Providing training and advice for the technological transformation of SMEs and entrepreneurs is one of the missions that Entel Empresas set itself years ago, in search of a greater objective: to be a technological partner for all businesses in the country.
With this in mind, the Comunidad Empresas was born, a 100% digital space, which has established itself as a benchmark for those who constantly seek to make the most of the opportunities of technology, and which today provides metrics that shed light on the entrepreneurial landscape in Chile.
In June, the platform reached one million monthly visits with connections not only from Chile, but also from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, United States, Argentina, Ecuador and Spain. Regarding the profile of the entrepreneurs, according to the analysis of the technology and telecommunications company, 62.1% are women versus 37.9% men and the age of the users is concentrated between 25 and 34 years old.
To which sectors do these entrepreneurs belong? The first five places are occupied by SMEs in the sectors of commerce, health and beauty, professional services, fashion and accessories, art and jewelry, followed by hotel and tourism, marketing and media, agribusiness, electronics, construction, and transportation.
Despite the diverse industries and sectors they represent, the most searched contents have cross-cutting themes to all businesses. Among the contents most read by entrepreneurs, there are articles on the future Data Protection Law, how to increase the profitability of a company, payment methods such as QR code and digital wallets, with 300 thousand, 268 thousand and 214 thousand visits, respectively.
“Through our platform we are able to deliver a unique online B2B experience in Latin America. The plus is that we also provide quality content that inspires and products for an effective digitization of business processes”, says Gonzalo Martinich, assistant manager of Marketing of Entel Empresas.
How to know the level of digitization of your SME
Thinking about the needs identified on the site, the company also enabled Digitalizados, an e-learning platform hosted on the same website. There you can access various tools that support entrepreneurs and SMEs. One of them is the profiler, a questionnaire whose results reveal the level of digitalization of each business and, based on that, suggests tools, services and training opportunities.
From April to date, about 2,800 people have registered on the platform and about 600 have been profiled. From this, it can be seen that most of the entrepreneurs reside in the central and southern areas. In fact, the first places are occupied by the Metropolitan Region (85%), Biobío (13%), Araucanía (7%), and then jump to the north in Antofagasta (4%) and then to the center, Valparaíso (3%), concentrating on the respective capitals.
After this first diagnosis, users can access courses, which, when completed, are included in the metrics that the platform provides to each entrepreneur with their degree of progress, and which will serve as a guide and accompaniment. In addition downloadable content such as ebooks, interviews and webinars. Of the latter, the main topics covered are those related to the digitalization of channels, financing and banking, and omni-channeling. In addition, the platform allows those who complete the course to obtain a certification.
For Martinich, the figures show the interest that entrepreneurs and SMEs have in constant training, so “it offers us new challenges as Entel Empresas”, he said. “The objective is to call SMEs from all over Chile so that they can be trained online and free of charge on the digital platform of the Digitalizados project, whether or not they are Entel customers. There, they will be able to find more than 70 online courses and 30 ebooks for their advice", eexplains the executive.
