Deadline extension of the contest:

The winner will see their proposal realized in the iconic Entel Tower and will also be the first confirmed artist of the 2019 edition of this urban art festival.

Intervening a classic capital icon is closer than ever. Until June 21, the “Ideas Torre Entel” contest will extend the deadline for any person or group to postulate a project and be part of the “Hecho en Casa Entel 2019” Festival, which will take place between October and November.

“We want this to be a festival for everyone, where everyone has the opportunity to participate. This year we opened the contest again to the public, and we also wanted to add all citizens to be part of the jury by giving them the opportunity to choose the five finalists”, said Manuel Araya, Entel’s Regulation and Corporate Affairs manager.

This year, people will also be able to participate in the election of the winner. How? The organization of the contest will present the ten finalists of the contest on RRSS and people will be able to choose the five best projects through online voting. Subsequently, the jury composed of the Undersecretary of Cultural Heritage, Emilio de la Cerda; gallery owner Patricia Ready; architect and urban planner Pía Montealegre; photographer María Gracia Subercaseaux, and journalist Rodrigo Guendelman will define the winner of the contest.

“Last year we were surprised and amazed by the work of Mauricio García, winner of the previous contest: a giant Woodpecker that perched on the Entel Tower to remind us of the importance of taking care of our flora and fauna. This year we will repeat the open call, so that everyone can participate to decorate our home, which is the city” said Payo Söchting, artistic director of the festival.

To apply, participants must enter http://www.hechoencasa.cl and complete a form with a description of their idea and a photomontage of the proposal.
