• Today at 6:00 p.m., the Entel World’s Longest Match began, a 120-hour consecutive game that will involve about 3,000 people, including professional players and amateurs, in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record.


• The match, which will take place at the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida, will end on Sunday, May 22nd.

At 6:00 p.m. today, the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida kicked off the world’s longest football match, which will last 120 consecutive hours from today until Sunday, May 22nd.


The first 22 players who signed up for the game kicked off the match, including professional players from the Chilean championship, such as Colo Colo midfielder Jaime Valdés, Deportes Temuco midfielder Arturo Sanhueza, Colo Colo defender Camilo Rodriguez and Vasco da Gama midfielder Felipe Seymour from Brazil.


The match will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest match in the world, with nearly 3,000 people from different parts of the country playing for 120 consecutive hours. In doing so, Chile will surpass the record set in England, where a football match was played for 105 hours in 2015.


The number of participants is also expected to break another record, that of the game with the largest number of players in history.
