Magallanes Region:

The initiative seeks to reach people living in isolated areas of the Magallanes Region, teaching them how to use the company’s App and avoid face-to-face procedures, given the distances involved.

In order to deliver a quality service to the greatest number of people, Entel’s internal program Desafío Territorio de Ideas announced the arrival of the “Kombi Entel” in Porvenir. This vehicle - already successfully in the towns of Primavera, San Gregorio and Laguna Blanca - was also in the square of Provenir. This project seeks to bring the services of the Entel App to rural areas, touring the region and reaching places where large branches often cannot.

During the visits, a team of collaborators of the technology and telecommunications company informs about the benefits of the Entel App, delivers merchandising and sim cards and phone recharge, prepaid, and also presents tutorials or features of the 5G technology.

This initiative was one of the winners of the “Territory of Ideas” program for Entel employees, which seeks to link the company with those challenges that arise throughout the territory and that have a direct impact on its customers. It is a call to the company to come up with innovative ideas that have a positive social impact, and thus provide a transforming experience.

This year, the winning project focused on communication with rural customers, although there are other types of ideas that also have a place in this internal Entel program, such as data transfer and management, and inclusive service, focusing on elderly people with disabilities and/or with difficulty in digital adoption in rural or remote areas.

“I would like to congratulate Entel’s Magallanes team. They achieved a project that will directly benefit our people. This is part of what we dream of in the regions: that services are not in the capital cities, but that they can move to rural areas”, said the governor of Magallanes, Jorge Flies.

“This project is a true reflection of our purpose as a company because we are advancing in solutions that allow us to continue bringing technology closer, providing connectivity and making people’s lives easier. The “Kombi Entel” initiative met the necessary criteria related to social impact, speed of implementation to execute it in the short term, the generation of benefits to the most remote communities and technical feasibility, among other aspects”, said Entel’s Director of Territory and Citizenship, Patricia Muñoz.

About Entel Territory of Ideas

This is a program of Entel’s Innovation Management and Territory and Citizenship Directorate, which seeks to link the company’s collaborators with the challenges that arise throughout the territory and that directly impact its customers. To this end, during 2022 they were invited to contribute ideas focused on generating a transformative experience for customers throughout the country.

As a result, a program was created with an open mailbox, where employees proposed ideas that could be implemented by a team of two or three people. Fifty-two ideas were received, of which 14 were pre-selected and, from these, the three winners were defined and are already being implemented in different regions.

The other two winners

  • Isla Maillén - “Islas Conectadas” (in English “Connected Islands”): the project consists of supporting the Health Service of Isla Maillén, in the Los Lagos Region, by installing a repeater site to support connectivity and enable telematic medical care, route and timetable alerts, or the suspension of visits due to weather conditions.

  • Alto Hospicio – “Entel en tu Almacén” (in English “Entel in your store”): consists of offering in neighborhood stores some of Entel’s products and services, such as the sale of chips, recharging, visualization of technical feasibility of fiber optics, and even contact for the sale of Entel Hogar services, taking advantage of these stores as a nearby point of sale in areas where it is not easy to access an Entel store.
