“Start with Casa Entel”:

The activity, which will take place on May 24 and 25 in the main square of the city, will feature the participation of comedian Stefan Kramer, the national band Sinergia and speakers such as Gonzalo Muñoz, who will talk about sustainability in an entertaining way.

In addition, entrepreneurs will show their sustainable products and people will be able to participate in workshops and leave their electronic waste in the first electronic waste recycling truck in the country.

To raise awareness of the need for technology to go hand in hand with care for the planet, Entel brings to Talca the first Sustainability Festival Empezar por Casa Entel.

With the presence of the Mayor of Talca, Juan Carlos Díaz, the Intendant of the Maule Region, Pablo Milad, the executive director of the Sustainability and Climate Change Agency (ASCC), Giovanni Calderón and Claudio Anabalón, Entel’s Director of Public Affairs, this activity that hopes to bring together the family around the care of the environment was launched.

“At Entel, we are convinced that technology must go hand in hand with sustainability. That is why since 2014 we have been promoting initiatives that promote sustainability and improve people’s quality of life. Starting with Casa Entel is an opportunity to promote sustainability with concrete actions and raise awareness of the responsibility we all have with the planet” , said Jimena del Valle, Entel’s Director of Sustainability.

On Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25, the country’s first technological waste recycling truck will be installed in the city’s main square, so that people can take their cell phones, chargers, headphones, modems and batteries. In the same place there will be a village where local entrepreneurs will present their sustainable products and services. In addition, attendees will be able to participate in free workshops on sustainability and robotics.

This Festival, organized by Entel, is a joint effort with the Municipality of Talca, the Intendencia del Maule, and the Sustainability and Climate Change Agency (ASCC), in a public-private alliance that seeks to bring these issues closer to the citizens and achieve together the responsible transformation of our society.

[

Juan Carlos Díaz, mayor of Talca, highlighted the work that has been done in his commune: “It is comforting to us that we are seen nationally as one of the cities leading the way in sustainability. Since I took office as mayor, we made the decision to become the Sustainability Capital and we are advancing in that line. Soon we will have 10 Municipal Recycling Centers and we will start recycling in the 70 thousand homes in the city of Talca. It is a task for all Talca families in pursuit of a better quality of life”.

[

Giovanni Calderón, executive director of the Sustainability and Climate Change Agency (ASCC), said: “In such a relevant year for the planet, where we are all called upon to combat climate change, public-private partnerships such as the one between the Sustainability Agency and Entel are fundamental to inform and raise awareness in the community about this global challenge”.

[

“We are very pleased to inaugurate the first sustainability festival in the country. Starting with Casa Entel is a reflection that when the public and private sectors join forces we achieve results as good as this one, where the greatest beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Maule region” said the Governor of the Maule Region, Pablo Milad.

“Starting with Casa Entel” will include the participation of comedian Stefan Kramer, the national band Sinergia, and talks by Gonzalo Muñoz, founder of TriCiclos and Champion of COP 25, as well as the presentation of Reciclapp, a startup that seeks to optimize and improve the recycling process in Chile.
