In Santiago, senior students from the Fernando Santiván educational center visited the core of the national long distance telecommunications systems, where data, voice and television services are received and broadcast.

As part of a pedagogical tour of the Metropolitan Region, senior students of the telecommunications specialty of the Fernando Santiván de Panguipulli educational center attended educational talks at the Entel Tower.

There, the students visited the National Telecommunications Center, where data, voice and television services are received and broadcast for the whole country. They also learned about the operation of the telecommunications company and went up to the observation deck of the iconic building in downtown Santiago, from where they can see the entire capital.

“We are very happy to have shared with the students of last year of secondary education of the telecommunications specialty in our home, the Entel Tower. Our mission as a company is to bring people closer to the infinite possibilities that technology gives us and today we had the opportunity to live this experience with the students of Panguipulli, who have been very enthusiastic”, said Jimena del Valle, Entel’s Director of Sustainability and Communities.

[

For her part, the coordinator of the activity, teacher Valentina Moraga of Fundación Enseña Chile, said: “This visit was a great experience for the younsters, they were able to learn about another reality in the world of telecommunications. It is an initiative that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. They learned about the history of communications, how it works and got a little closer to the world of this field of work" said Jimena del Valle, Entel’s Director of Sustainability and Communities.

The Entel Tower, 127 meters high, was inaugurated in 1974 and, to this day, is the vital nucleus of all Chile’s long-distance telecommunications systems.
