The alliance with the world leader in cybersecurity, allows the Cybersecurity Services team of Entel’s digital unit, to be part of a select group of partners at regional level that have the Diamond category and the only one in Chile with the specialization of Extended Detection and Response (XMDR) with local support.

This new service will provide organizations with a more advanced and proactive approach to threat management, reducing detection and response times from months to hours/minutes.

Entel Ocean, Entel’s digital unit, was chosen by Palo Alto Networks -world leader in cybersecurity-, as the only Chilean company to obtain the highest Diamond category and the Extended Detection and Response (XMDR) specialization with local support capabilities. This state-of-the-art technology provides holistic protection against cyber attacks, unauthorized access and misuse, breaking down traditional security silos with detection and response across all data sources.

For Mauricio Ramirez, Country Manager Palo Alto, “with this distinction, Palo Alto Network recognizes that the Entel Ocean Cybersecurity Services team has all the technical and operational knowledge and capabilities to make available to the market combined services of greater complexity, which will allow organizations to meet the important challenges of cybersecurity, considering the current scenario of digitization and hyperconnectivity”.

Cyril Delaere, Manager of the Cybersecurity and Cloud Services Unit at Entel Ocean commented that “the XMDR specialization in Cortex XDR™ detection and response technology and the Diamond category obtained from Palo Alto Networks, confirm the level of technical certification, expertise and maturity in solution implementation, architecture development, and operation that our teams have to deliver Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services that will help our customers optimize cybersecurity operations (CSOC) and quickly mitigate cyber threats”.

Currently, the situation for organizations is complex. This is because recognizing a true threat requires discerning between multiple alerts that may be inaccurate and incomplete, as well as considering the long detection and response times of a breach, which together can take up to 260 days due to investigations that require specialized expertise. This new service will provide a more mature approach to proactive threat management, reducing detection and response times from months to hours/minutes.

Regarding the key challenges of this partnership, Delaere noted that “organizations need effective detection and response at the network - the endpoint and the cloud - but managing threats in hybrid environments effectively is highly complex. This is where it becomes important for organizations to have managed detection and response (XMDR) services, shifting the paradigm away from conventional managed services that tend to be very reactive”.

Another differentiating aspect of Entel Ocean’s new offer of cybersecurity technologies and services is that it has exclusive local support. “Having a team of specialists in the country to assist our customers is an important competitive advantage, since, in case of an incident, in addition to the knowledge and experience of the local context, we have the capacity to provide on-site support, all with infinitely shorter response times and at a lower cost”, explained Eduardo Bouillet, Director of Entel Ocean’s Cyber Intelligence Center.

Entel Ocean’s XMDR service can be offered to customers in any industry, as it solves cross-cutting detection and response needs, but is even more relevant for customers with more specific security requirements, such as regulatory compliance.
