Entel and the Organization of Consumers and Users (Orcus) today signed an alliance aimed at promoting consumer rights in the telecommunications sector.
The meeting was attended by Entel’s Manager of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Manuel Araya; the President of the Board of Directors of Orcus, Guillermo Henríquez; Lorena Valenzuela, Vice President of Orcus; and Adolfo Henríquez Valenzuela, responsible for telecommunications at the organization.
“The inclusion of Orcus in Entel’s Advisory Board is a great contribution to the strengthening of the organization, especially since they will bring the point of view of an important region of the country,” said Estefan Larenas, president of Odecu, the organization that currently has an alliance with the telecommunications company, after attending the signing of the agreement.
With this agreement, both entities will create instances that promote the dissemination of consumer rights in the telecommunications sector.
“Our customers are at the center of our management and we strive every day to meet their needs. For the same reason, we want them to know more about the services we offer so that they can use them in an informed way and help us to constantly improve,” said Manuel Araya, Entel’s Manager of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs.
Orcus was created in April 2009 under Law 19.496 with the aim of educating, guiding and representing Chilean consumers and users. The organization works mainly in the Valparaíso region, but also has a presence in the Metropolitan Region, Antofagasta and Los Lagos.
“The collaboration between consumer associations and companies in the telecommunications industry is a necessity due to the importance it has acquired in the daily lives of Chileans. The search for new services and improvements in the current ones, implies closeness in the mutual listening between provider and customer. The ENTEL-ORCUS agreement is signed in this spirit,” said Guillermo Henríquez, chairman of the board of Orcus.
