The best journalistic works that promote the development of sustainability in its three fundamental pillars; social, economic and environmental, may participate and be awarded in the tenth version of Entel’s PESU award, which opened its applications today.
The contest is open to all journalists who have published between October 2017 and September 2018, any work related to actions that contribute to the construction of a deep and rooted idea of sustainability, in written press formats chronicle and report, television chronicle and report, multimedia and radio, as well as written press in Peru.
PESU seeks to recognize the research and development of current, novel, relevant, well-documented stories of narrative quality that promote the relationship between the social, economic and environmental spheres to generate actions in pursuit of sustainability.
“Entel’s role is to bring the infinite possibilities that technology gives us and thus responsibly transform society. That is why this award seeks to recognize those who contribute, through the media, to raise awareness and promote the development of more sustainable communities” , explains Jimena del Valle, Entel’s Director of Sustainability and Communities.
The jury of the contest is composed of Chilean and Italian journalists, including the winner of the National Journalism Award 2011, Sergio Campos; journalist and television host, Amaro Gómez-Pablos; the director of the School of Journalism of Università Cattolica di Milano, Marco Lombardi; the director of the newspapers of U. Cattolica di Milano, Matteo Scanni; and the Italian journalist and sustainability expert, Gianluca Schinaia.
The jury will choose a winner in each category and the winner of the 2018 PESU Award, who will be invited - including all travel and accommodation expenses - to the city of Milan, Italy, for an internship at the School of Journalism of Università Cattolica di Milano.
