In order to resume the tradition of celebrating the arrival of a new year together with the citizens, this year the technology and telecommunications company Entel will welcome 2021 with a light show that people will be able to see from their homes so that they can continue taking care of themselves. It is a multicolored light beam, which will be projected from the Entel Tower at 00:00 hours sharp on January 1, 2021 and will be visible until 4:00 am.
“This 2020 has been an extremely complex year due to the health emergency and the various impacts it has had on everyone’s lives. We want to close this cycle and welcome a new year with a gift that seeks to keep alive Entel’s tradition of celebrating this milestone together with people, deliver light in difficult times, help recharge energies and give hope for a 2021 that we are sure will be better than the one that is ending”, commented Alexis Licci, Entel’s marketing manager.
He also stressed that “considering the health contingency in which we find ourselves, we wanted to make an intervention that can be enjoyed without leaving the house, so we invite you to raise your eyes to the sky and enjoy it. Let’s continue to take care of ourselves and our loved ones and celebrate the new year that is about to begin”..

This year Entel will perform an environmentally friendly light show, which they will be able to enjoy for 4 hours in the comfort and safety of their homes. There will be seven beams of lights of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet colors, which will cross the night sky, of 80W RGB each. The complete structure has a weight of 490 kilos, consisting of 420 kilos of lights and their supports, a 30 kg electric board, as well as 40 kg of cables and connections. This technology was brought directly from the United States for the show.
Finally, in line with the activities carried out by Entel over the last two years, the carbon footprint of this show will be neutralized.
Arica to Punta Arenas show
In a year that has been challenging for the whole country, Entel will take its celebration to welcome the year to different regions of the country. After intervening the capital from the Entel Tower between January 31 and 4, it will visit the cities of Arica (January 7 and 8), La Serena (January 11 to 13), Concepción (January 16 to 18) and Punta Arenas (January 22 and 23). Only to receive the 2021 the beginning will be at 00:00, while the following days will be from 21:00, for 4 hours.
In emblematic places of each city, this luminous intervention will project a rainbow, inviting people to see it from their homes, take pictures and rescue the good signs that this complex year had, receiving 2021 with energy and optimism.
