The Intendancy of the Antofagasta Region, the Organización de Consumidores y Usuarios de Chile (ODECU) and Entel, held in Antofagasta the workshop “Technology and the Leadership Role”, which consisted of showing neighborhood and social leaders of the region about the main advantages of mobile devices for social and labor development in their communities. Likewise, they were trained on a range of leadership tools to help them play their role more efficiently in front of the people with whom they interact.
The meeting was divided into four modules. The first was given by ODECU and consisted of training the leaders of the invited communities with information related to their rights and duties as consumers. The second course consisted of digital literacy in social networks, such as Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp, for the management and relationship of their communities. The third module was taught by the Municipality of Antofagasta, which taught the digital platforms with which the State serves citizens. The fourth module, given by Entel, provided information on connectivity to the attendees, also answering various questions on infrastructure and technology.
“At Entel we have a strong commitment with communities and their sustainable development. We are proud to approach and support neighborhood leaders in the country so that they can enhance their community work. We hope that this workshop will be a great step in this direction”, said Manuel Araya, Entel’s regulatory and corporate affairs manager.
ODECU coordinator Alejandro Pujá commented: “For ODECU, this fifth seminar with Entel is a clear demonstration that it is possible for companies and suppliers to work together to educate consumers and users about their rights, a task in which no one is superfluous. To the extent that people know and directly exercise their rights, we guarantee greater social justice, market competition and sustainable development”.
