After a successful opening in the Coquimbo Region, the fourth edition of the Mori Entel National Theater Tour ends its national tour in Antofagasta with two outstanding productions that will be presented free of charge to the public between August 8 and 11 at the Antofagasta Municipal Theater.
The first of these plays will be the comedy “La puerta de al lado”, which since its premiere in April has been seen by more than ten thousand people. The play is directed by Patricio Pimienta -same director of “Nuestras mujeres (Our Women)” (2017), “Bajo terapia (Under Therapy)” (2016) and “Le prenom” (2015), the most watched premieres on the national stage in their respective years- and stars Javiera Contador and Iván Álvarez de Araya.
This romantic comedy, which has been a hit on important stages in France, Spain and Argentina, tells the story of two single neighbors in the midst of a mid-life crisis, both living alone, separated by a narrow hallway. Two polar opposites who will try to maintain cordiality, but a little loud music will be enough to turn them into obnoxious neighbors.
For the whole family, “The Adventures of Robin Hood Clown”, by the Reciclacirco company, will be presented. Inspired by the legend of Robin Hood, the play tells the adventures of a brave young man who, in clown style, shows his iron sense of justice in the forests of southern Chile.
“La puerta de al lado (“The Next Door“) will be presented on Wednesday, August 8 and Thursday, August 9 at 8:30 p.m. at the Teatro Municipal de Antofagasta, while ‘“Las aventuras de Robin Hood Clown“ (“The Adventures of Robin Hood Clown") will be presented on Saturday, August 11 at 12:00 and 5:00 p.m., at the same venue.
“The Mori Entel Theater Mori Tour has given us great satisfaction for four years now. We want to be part of the great transformations, and we want to do it in a responsible way. That is why we have maintained this commitment to the theater with the purpose of taking it free of charge to different places in Chile”, commented Alexis Licci, Entel’s marketing manager.
Meanwhile, the executive director of Centro Mori, Cristóbal Vial, said: “Thanks to Entel, for the fourth consecutive year Centro Mori reaches different corners of the country with the best of national theater. In three years of touring we have summoned more than thirty thousand people, consolidating our presence in regions and the objective of decentralizing culture through quality theater accessible to all audiences”.
The star of “La puerta de al lado” ("The Next Door"), Javiera Contador, said: “I would like to invite all our friends in Antofagasta to join us at the Teatro Municipal de Antofagasta. There we will be presenting with Iván Álvarez de Araya this romantic comedy about two bachelor neighbors, in their forties, who seem to hate each other, but feel a great attraction”.
The 2018 Mori Entel National Theater Tour began in April in La Serena, in May it went to Valparaíso, in June to Rancagua and will end its tour in August in the Antofagasta Region.
