Clínica Nómadas Vet, located in San José de Maipo, has experienced remarkable growth since its opening in February of this year. Formed by 3 partners, all involved in the animal world, it has already won the affection of the pre-cordilleran zone and an important space in the local community, which until now lacked an offer of veterinary services.
Thus, in the midst of the challenge of positioning itself in the community, Nómadas Vet decided to take a challenge and participate in the season of Misión Pyme, the docu-reality produced by Entel Empresas for the last 5 years, which promotes digitalization of all businesses and supports companies in their growth by adopting technological tools in any of the stages of digital maturity. So this time we see the main characters of the fourth chapter of this new season, interacting with an undercover agent in charge of identifying problems and gaps in each business, as well as the best technological solutions for them. In the case of this SME, this character posed as a clinic worker in charge of cleaning the place.
It also counted on the presence of the “Experto Entel” (in English ‘‘Entel Expert’’), a character who communicates “internally” with the agent from the emblematic Entel Tower, guides him in his work and contributes off-camera with his experience to ensure the success of each technological transformation process.
The clinic’s main problem was that it did not have a web page where it could communicate the services available, their prices, opening hours and contacts. Also, and not least, it did not have an online system for storing patient records and safeguarding this information. These were managed in a folder, which often got lost, leaving the patient with no way to follow up on their treatments.
“We had a lot of new patients and more were arriving every day, and what was very orderly in the beginning - to have everything in a folder, on a sheet of paper - started to become chaos; we even lost the patients’ records. The guys working at the reception desk had to repeat the information every time the phone rang, because we did not have a web page where we could send our clients to look for the information they needed”..
Daniela Arancibia, a veterinarian at the clinic, reported that “we had a lot of new patients and more were arriving every day, and what was very orderly at the beginning - which was to have everything in a folder, on a sheet of paper - started to become chaotic; we even lost the patients’ files. The guys working at the reception desk had to repeat the information every time the phone rang, because we had no web page where we could refer our clients to look for the data they needed”.
The solutions
For the first of the problems detected in Nómadas Vet, the lack of a web page, the Entel expert proposed the implementation of “Tu Negocio digital” (in English “Your digital Business”), a tool that allows the design of web sites for SMEs, easily managed and without the need for a specialist. Today, the clinic has a digital showcase that allows it to inform about its services, attention values and all its means of contact.
Meanwhile, to improve the management of patient information, Entel recommended the installation of Google Workspace, software that will allow the scheduling of patients through the calendar tool, as well as leaving reminders of the dates of their vaccinations, procedures and antiparasitic treatments. All this information is hosted in the cloud so that any clinic staff member can access it from any device, anywhere.
“In our commitment to be allies of small and medium-sized companies, we seek to promote the integration of technological solutions in various sectors. Our mission is to accompany them in this process and ensure that the tools they choose are perfectly adapted to their needs. Today, digitalization has become indispensable and we want to take this important step into the future together with SMEs”, said the manager of Soluciones Digitales Empresas y Pymes, Alexis Narbona.
