For the company’s 59th anniversary:

The young Chilean promise that is shattering the international music scene was invited to produce the urban version of the commercial launched by Entel in 1989, which still has an important place in the collective imagination. With this action she hopes to bring it closer to the younger generations as well

“Entel is in the streets... Entel is here uh-uh”. Surely with just that sentence any person of generation X or baby boomer reads it with the melody in his head. Thirty-four years have passed since the launch of the hit song “Entel está aquí” (in English “Entel is here”), a memorable jingle for a commercial that showed the Chilean society of the late 80s.

Therefore, on the occasion of its 59th anniversary, the technology and telecommunications company wanted to make a nod to today’s society and relaunched the video of this Entel classic with updated images where the connection is the protagonist throughout Chile. But that’s not all, the new generations are also protagonists of this remake and for this, Magic en el Beat was hired to revive this classic and give it the urban touch that is needed to be at the forefront.

Joaquín Calderón is a young man of 24 years old, from San Bernardo and graduated as a sound technician.

However, he is well known in the music scene as Magic en el Beat. In his beginnings, he started producing music watching YouTube tutorials and today he has credits in big hits, such as “Ultra solo” by Polimá Westcoast with Pailita and “Tak tiki tak” by Harry Nach.

However, his career took a meteoric leap when he became the only South American guest producer on Bad Bunny’s album “Un verano sin ti”. This earned him worldwide recognition and a Latin Grammy nomination. The album was the most listened to album of 2022 on Spotify.

The music producer was not yet born when the song was released, but notes that as soon as he heard it he came up with ideas. “It was a challenge because it was a super different style than what I do today, so I had to merge both worlds. I think it worked super well and I loved the result” , said Magic en el Beat.

“This jingle, which has a great recall in the adult and young adult audience, relives the best of the past era and the trajectory of the company until the late 80s. At Entel we were there and we are here with the new generations. We are a company that has evolved and today has the firm purpose of bringing the advantages of technology to everyone”, said Romina Galatzan, Entel’s Corporate Marketing Manager.

Without wanting to make spoilers, Calderón says that the creative process consisted of finding nuances to cross both worlds, “the style of the song from 34 years ago and the more current one that I work with”, he said.

"It has a more nineties section like the original song and a more reggaeton or urban music part like the one I work with,”, he said.

El remake del jingle también cuenta con video, que rescata a personajes icónicos de la cultura pop nacional, entre ellos, Claudio Michaux, Pop Lolita, Raquel Castillo y el “no y tu mamá”, Zapallito y el Pelao del Tiktok.

The video remake can be found on Entel’s social networks https://www.instagram.com/entel/ y https://www.tiktok.com/@entel
