• Entel’s summer campaign “Conectados para Siempre” (in English “Connected forever”) consists of the installation of a four-meter high steel heart in the city, so that couples on holiday can leave a souvenir on it.

• The initiative hopes that those who visit the site will be able to hang one of the 2,500 padlocks that will be distributed at the site as a symbol of their relationship.

The descent to Pucón’s Playa Grande will never be the same again. Today marks the start of Entel’s “Conectados para Siempre” campaign, with the permanent installation of a four-meter-high steel heart on the beach.

The aim of the initiative is to allow couples who come to see the work to leave a padlock on it as a symbol of their relationship.

An Entel team will be on site to distribute 2,500 padlocks to passers-by and invite them to test their compatibility using a mobile phone application.

The work, which will also be replicated in La Serena, is by renowned Chilean artist Matías Vergara, who worked on the project for almost two months.

“This work is very important because, in addition to being a contribution to the community, we achieve that people can unite around art and culture, as well as leaving a permanent memory of their relationship,” explained Vergara, adding that “this type of initiative also helps to bring art to the regions and democratize access to culture.”

Meanwhile, Nino Parodi, Entel’s Zonal Manager, referred to the implementation of this initiative. “Our goal is to connect people, whether through our operations, sports or music. In this case, we are uniting people through culture, so we hope that all the people of Pucón and the surrounding area will be able to enjoy this work,” he said.

“For us as a municipality, it is very important to form alliances with the private sector because it allows us to create more and better events for all our neighbors and visitors, as well as creating a link with modern art,” said Carlos Barra, Mayor of Pucón.
