The festival Hecho en Casa Entel began in the Valparaíso Region:

After their passage through Santiago, the works will be until November 4 at Muelle Vergara. As a novelty, in their new location the Caracoles will light up from their interior every night.

The interventions of the Italian collective Cracking Art, which are made of regenerated plastic and invite you to take it easy, have been in countries such as South Korea, France, Australia and the United States.

Twelve giant snails dawned basking in the sun at Muelle Vergara to kick off in Viña del Mar the sixth edition of the urban art festival Hecho en Casa (Homemade) Entel. The interventions, made of regenerated plastic by the Italian collective Cracking Art, traveled to the Valparaiso Region after having been presented with great public success in Plaza Italia in Santiago.

Fuchsia, pink, black, light blue, green, orange, red, white, yellow and blue are the colors of these 2.35 meters high, 3.20 meters long and 110 kilos snails, which invite people to meet and interact with them, as in a playground. The great novelty in the Valparaíso Region is that for the first time the snails will light up from the inside every night until November 4. The work has a selfie point in height, from where people will be able to take the best pictures of the Snails, now with a view of the sea.

"For the second year in a row we come to the Valparaíso Region and we are very proud to bring these 12 snails to the garden city. We invite you to celebrate spring, to go outdoors and be part of this tremendous urban festival with this work, which inspires us to take things calmly and to give us a breath of serenity among the hustle and bustle of everyday life,” said Payo Söchting, artistic director of the festival.

[

Meanwhile, the mayor of Viña del Mar, Virginia Reginato, commented: “For Viña del Mar, as a tourist city, this cultural urban intervention of the giant snails as part of the ‘Hecho en Casa Entel’ Festival 2018, is a great attraction and will take special value during this long weekend. As a municipality we expect thousands of visitors, so that as a family they can enjoy this novel activity, for which we have extended the opening hours to Muelle Vergara until 22.30 during these 4 days, since at night it will be a very striking and colorful show by the sea."

[

"This free festival seeks to transform everyday places into amazing places and hopefully more and more people can live this experience. That is why last year we brought Pato de Hule (Rubber Duck) to Valparaíso and now Caracoles (Snails) to Viña del Mar. We hope that people enjoy this work, everyone is invited!" explained Fernando Rivas, Entel’s Communications Manager.

Art continues in Santiago

In parallel, the Hecho en Casa Entel festival continues to develop in Santiago with four urban interventions, which so far have attracted thousands of people in the center of the capital. The circuit begins at the Entel Tower with Pájaro Carpintero (Woodpecker), a few steps away from Llama Andina (Andean Llama), Gallo Chileno (Chilean Rooster) and the hyperrealist mural Insectario (Insectarium), which is under development. These interventions will remain on display until Sunday, November 4.
