“Caracoles” (“Snails”), by the Italian collective Cracking Art, was one of the most visited interventions, both in Santiago and Viña del Mar.

“Insectario (“Insectarium"), a hyperrealist painting of 18 x 16 meters, will be the only work that can still be visited in the building of the Ministry of Education, on the corner of Amunátegui and Alameda.

With total success of attendees ends today the urban art festival Hecho en Casa Entel, which surprised once again with five large-scale urban interventions, which were seen by more than one million people in the Metropolitan and Valparaiso regions.

The sixth edition of the festival featured five artists, works were displayed in two regions, more than 300 people worked, and more than 3,000 kilos of recycled plastic and more than 4,000 kilos of iron were used.

For the second consecutive year, the free festival took a work to the regions. This year the chosen city was Viña del Mar, where 70 thousand people visited and took selfies with 12 regenerated plastic snails weighing more than 110 kilos each. As a novelty for attendees in the Valparaíso Region, the snails will light up from the inside at night at the Muelle Vergara pier.

In parallel, in the Metropolitan Region, the other four urban interventions were deployed during the eleven days of Hecho en Casa Entel. Thousands of visitors enjoyed Pájaro Carpintero (Woodpecker), at the Entel Tower, took pictures with Llama Andina (Andean Llama) in the central alley of the Alameda and were surprised by the light of Gallo Chileno (Chilean Rooster) at night in Paseo Bulnes.

The hyperrealist mural Insectario (Insectarium), by the French artist Mantra, will be the only work that can still be visited in the Ministry of Education building, on the corner of Amunátegui and Alameda.

“We are super happy with the love and enthusiasm that there was in this Hecho en Casa Entel (Homemade). This motivates us to continue working to bring urban art to more people throughout Chile", was the balance of Payo Söchting, artistic director of the festival.

[

“We are very happy with the reception we have had this year from all the people who have come to see the interventions in Santiago and Viña del Mar. The goal of having more people amazed by these monumental works was achieved”, said Fernando Rivas, Entel’s communications manager.
