• The telecommunications company has launched new plans that include an additional fee for the exclusive use of music and video apps Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Netflix.

• With its 4G+ network - already available in the Valparaíso, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, O’Higgins and Metropolitan regions - Entel customers will enjoy a special experience when using these apps.

Entel today updated its commercial offer, tripling the data allowance of its current plans. This is in response to the deployment of its 4G network in the 700 MHz band with LTE-Advance Carrier Aggregation (4G+) technology, the most advanced in Latin America, and the explosion in demand for mobile data, the company said.


By upgrading their current plan, customers will be able to get an additional data allowance exclusively for music and video to use Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and Netflix, tripling the data of their current plan. For example, if a customer has a data allowance of 4.5GB, they will now have an additional 9GB to use for music and video on the listed apps. This upgrade comes at no additional cost and current customers can upgrade through the Entel app, Mi Entel and through regular channels.


In addition to tripling the data allowance, this new plan offer is also multi-device, allowing customers to share their traffic allowance with up to 5 additional devices (surfing on their mobile, tablet, computer or other device). This will provide an optimal customer experience when using popular music and video applications, which are among the most data-intensive and preferred by consumers.

“With the significant roll-out of our 4G network in the 700 MHz band, we are able to offer a new range of plans to meet the so-called digital tsunami, where the demand for data usage is growing exponentially every year, in addition to the needs and preferences of consumers in this new scenario", said José Luis Poch, Entel’s Vice President of Mobile and Broadband Operationsh.

Entel has already launched its 4G+ network in five regions of the country: Metropolitan, Valparaíso, Tarapacá, Antofagasta and O’Higgins. According to the executive, since its launch, this network has managed to capture between 20 and 25% of data traffic, a figure that is expected to continue growing as more advanced devices are put in the hands of customers.

“This new offering will be available to the market today, both to new customers and to existing subscribers who want a significant improvement in their browsing capacity at no extra cost,”, said Poch.

“Commercial innovations of this kind, coupled with the fact that we have the most modern and robust network in the country, explain why we maintain our leadership position in the customer segments with the highest data demands, such as contract customers and especially customers with 4G services,”, he said.

According to Subtel’s latest report, Entel has 39% of the post-paid market and 37% of 4G customers as of June this year.
