Collection of disused electronic devices:

The campaign, led by Entel and Kyklos, reached in 2023 a recycling record of more than 14 thousand electronic devices in disuse, including cell phones, CPUs, notebooks and tablets. For this version, it plans to surpass this figure, once again adding a 100% electric truck that will be looking for electronic devices throughout the country.

This year, the initiative expects to visit 106 cities, compared to the 56 it visited in 2023, and to go from the 23 tons collected last year to 30 tons in 2024.

The Entel Reutiliza for Chile 2024 tour began its journey through the Los Lagos Region with the ambitious goal of almost doubling the number of cities visited and collecting 30 tons of electronic devices that are no longer in use.

The project, promoted by Entel together with Kyklos, has as its main objective the recycling of unused cell phones, CPUs, tablets and computers and their restoration to be later donated to students in vulnerable contexts.

In this new edition, the campaign truck, which is set up as a collection point, will visit a total of 106 localities in the country, between Arica and Punta Arenas. In addition, part of the route will again be made in a fully electric vehicle, which reduces the environmental impact in terms of CO2 emissions. In 2023, the tour traveled through 56 localities and collected 23 tons of unused appliances.

"This initiative is a concrete example of our Sustainability Strategy, which promotes the reduction of the carbon footprint, encourages the circular economy and contributes to closing the digital divide. This fills us with pride, because we see that the contribution being made is immense and tangible,"explained Entel's Sustainability and Communications Manager, Francisca Florenzano.

This year's tour begins its route in Los Lagos, one of the regions that has collected the most equipment in the history of the program. Until today, Wednesday, March 13, electronic devices will be received at the Plaza de Armas in Puerto Montt, between 14:00 and 18:00 hours. On Thursday 14 and Friday 15, the truck will be located, at the same time, at the Plaza de Armas in Puerto Varas. The tour will then continue through the Lakes Region and visit the towns of Llanquihue (March 18 and 19), Frutillar (March 20 and 21), Puerto Octay (March 22 to 25) and Fresia (March 26 and 27). Subsequently, it will be installed in other localities in the area, to finish the route in the region in the city of Osorno, on April 9.
