At the “Night for Equality” event:

Fundación Iguales awarded the technology and telecommunications company for the development of inclusive actions to improve the quality of life of people.

In the framework of the sixth version of the event “Night for Equality”, led by Fundación Iguales, for the first time Entel was highlighted in the category of National Company for contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of people, in issues of sexual and gender diversity in Chile.

This category seeks to recognize those companies that have expressed their support for the demands of sexual and gender diversity, as well as those that have specific inclusion policies for the LGBTI community, as is the case of the technology and telecommunications company.

The activity has been held annually since 2014 and is one of the main instances of the Foundation, and the first that recognizes the support and work for the LGBTI community nationwide.

The event aims to raise funds and distinguish those leaders, media, companies and public organizations from different fields, who have made a contribution in inclusion issues or visible their support for sexual and gender diversity, in addition to having carried out concrete actions to improve the quality of life of people.

“At Entel we are extremely proud of this transformation that we undertook with conviction three years ago. We believe that the role of companies is not only to be an economic engine, but also to be part of society, capable of rethinking our raison d’être and promoting a culture where everyone can contribute. Although we still have a long way to go, we are committed to contributing to the transformation of our society, one in which we are all welcome", commented Entel’s Human Resources Manager, Felipe Straub, after receiving the award.

Fundación Iguales was founded in 2011 by Pablo Simonetti, Luis Larraín and Antonio Bascuñán, with the purpose of creating an institution that works towards inclusion, equal rights and ending discrimination against sexual diversity.

The organization is non-profit and is financed mainly by contributions from individuals.
