The application process for the 55+ Fund, an initiative promoted by Entel that seeks to finance innovative projects aimed at developing digital skills in people between 55 and 70 years of age, concluded with an outstanding participation. In this first edition, the fund received 127 applications from organizations in nine regions of the country, with the Metropolitan, Valparaíso and Biobío regions standing out. A total of 66 foundations, 42 corporations and 19 companies applied.


“We successfully closed the call for Entel's first 55+ Fund, and we would like to thank all the organizations that applied with their projects to support us as strategic partners in the challenge of digitally enabling the elderly. We received many innovative proposals that can generate a significant and real impact on the digital inclusion of this age group” explained Entel's Sustainability and Communications Manager, Francisca Florenzano.


The 55+ Fund has a budget of $ 300 million, which will be distributed among the winning projects. The applications are being evaluated by an interdisciplinary committee that will select those proposals with the greatest potential for impact in the defined thematic areas:


  1. Promote autonomy in the digital world (25 applications).

  2. Strengthen social and community ties (34 applications).

  3. Increase the level of education and financial health (20 applications).

  4. Develop digital skills for employability (48 applications).

The winner or winners will be announced in the coming months and will be published on the website entel.cl/fondo55. Once defined, they will have 1 year to implement their project.
