“The investment in home services has a strong emphasis on the development of fiber optics and connection of customers, either with our own or third-party networks, which will allow us to increase our coverage and reach a greater number of communes in the medium term”, says Entel’s Home Market Manager, Daniel Ríos.
Fiber optic connectivity is not only important to expand the supply of the home market, but it is also very relevant for the deployment of 5G. Precisely, this infrastructure, together with the 4G network, has been fundamental in the successful progress of the fifth generation network in the country. This is because the fifth generation requires a very demanding network topology for data transmission, to provide higher speeds and very low latency, so the sites must be connected with optical fiber.
Ríos adds that “in relation to the offer, since we entered the home market 5 years ago, we have seen that it is a very dynamic market, which has been changing according to the needs of the customers, which has allowed us to grow in a solid and permanent way with a high quality product, valued by the customers”.
