For nine years, the telecommunications and technology company Entel remains in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes of the Chilean Stock Exchange in the DJSI Chile and DJSI MILA Pacific Alliance (Integrated Market of the Pacific Alliance) categories, being together with América Mobile the only Latin American companies on the list.
The company again remained in both indexes, despite the fact that both increased their cut-off scores, by 4 points in the case of Chile and 10 points in the case of the MILA Index. One of the reasons for Entel's inclusion is the excellent result achieved in S&P Global's annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) process, where it scored 80 points out of 100, an increase of 3 points over the previous year's measurement.
“At Entel, we have defined that the most objective and transparent way to measure the progress and results of each of the transformations of our sustainability strategy 'Conciencia en Todas' -cultural, inclusive, sustainable and responsible- is the annual evaluation that we undergo in the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). We are proud to remain in this select group and our score is a reflection of Entel's commitment and work to be a sustainable company in its financial, social and environmental dimensions” explains Entel's Sustainability and Communications Manager, Francisca Florenzano.
Entel had a high performance in the overall measurement, obtaining 80 points out of 100, standing out from its international industry peers, which average 36/100. The company obtained very good results in the main dimensions of the index.
Social: 82/100 (Promedio industria: 33/100).
Economic and Governance: 82/100 (Industry average 36/100).
Environment: 70/100 (Industry average: 37/100).
The telecommunications company also achieved the highest scores in the categories of Transparency and Reporting, Risk and Crisis Management, Business Ethics and Privacy Protection. In addition, the increase in scores with respect to the previous year in Supply Chain Management (+40) stands out. “These scores set us on the path to becoming a global benchmark and ensure our leadership in terms of best practices at all levels of corporate sustainability. This is the path that challenges us every day,” says Francisca Florenzano.
It is important to remember that the telecommunications industry leaders in the S&P CSA are the Asian companies True Corporation, Far EasTone Telecommunications and Chunghwa Telecom.
