Entel has the mobile network with the highest download speed and consistency, according to the latest report by Ookla, the US Internet diagnostic services company, which measured the performance of the different Chilean operators between January and March this year.
According to the report, Entel obtained an average download speed of 23.13 MegaBits per Second (Mbps), which means that its customers take the least time to download movies, songs, web pages, photos and games, among others.
It also recorded the highest consistency (77.2%), which translates into greater constancy and, therefore, a better user experience.
According to Entel’s manager of regulation and corporate affairs, Manuel Araya, this result reflects the strong investment they have made in the 4G network, and now in 5G. “We work permanently to deliver the best service and browsing experience to our customers, and these results confirm that we are on the right line. We will continue working to strengthen our connectivity and bring technology closer to everyone”, he said.
Entel has just announced an investment of almost US$ 130 million in the 4G network for this year, with a strong focus on regions and rural areas of the country, while in the deployment of the 5G network it has already invested around US$ 60 million and will add US$ 350 million in the next 3 years. This responds to the important infrastructure requirements demanded by this new technology which, in the case of Entel, already has antennas operating in nine regions of the country.
