Alas20 and Sofofa’s ESG index:

The technology and telecommunications company was nominated in two categories of the Hispanic-American initiative Agenda Líderes Sustentables (Alas20) and recently participated in the project of the national business association that seeks to promote standards in environmental, social and corporate governance matters.


Entel continues to advance in its commitment to sustainable development. Thus, in 2022, it was nominated for the two rankings of the Hispanic-American initiative Agenda Líderes Sustentables (Alas20) and also participated in the ESG Index of the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (Sofofa), which was carried out for the first time this year.


The initiative led by Sofofa seeks to promote standards in social, environmental and corporate governance (ESG) matters among the guild’s member companies.


Since 2014, Alas20 has been evaluating, rating and fully recognizing excellence in the public disclosure of information on sustainable development, corporate governance and responsible investment practices of companies and investors in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Peru.


The technology and telecommunications company is participating in the categories Leading Company in Sustainability and Leading Company in Investor Relations, and is currently in a technical evaluation process until October 21 of this year, where the different categories will be measured in terms of sustainability.


Since 2005 Entel has developedsustainability reports detailing the achievements and challenges in different ESG matters, and for the year 2020 it presented its first integrated report, which brought together in a single document the company’s financial information and progress in its socio-environmental objectives. With this, the company seeks to provide the broadest possible view of its business model, strategy, prospects, risks and opportunities, in order to understand how it intends to create and sustain value in the long term.


“Incorporating sustainability into the strategy has been a process of ongoing development and learning. Being part of these rankings and indexes is a recognition of the small and large efforts that we promote transversally as Entel in terms of sustainability, one of our strategic pillars as a company. It also motivates us to continue developing initiatives along the same lines and seeking opportunities that will allow us to strengthen this path”, said Entel’s Director of Sustainability and Environment, Jimena del Valle.
