“This is a very important moment for the community. A It has been very difficult to communicate, even radio signals have difficulty reaching them. E This initiative means a radical change for the people who live in these areas, who can now fully enter the XXI century, because until now they lived in the previous century”, said Guido Barría, mayor of Lonquimay.

[

“With initiatives such as this, we are moving forward in our goal of helping people live better connected lives", emphasized Manuel Araya, Entel’s Manager of Regulation and Corporate Affairs “This step allows us to contribute to the development of the region and our community. This step allows us to contribute to the development of the region and our community, improving their quality of life by reducing the digital divide in a world where technology brings us closer together and creates opportunities for everyone” he added.

[

Meanwhile, the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Pedro Huichalaf, said: “We are very pleased because, as a government and on behalf of President Michelle Bachelet, we are working to provide connectivity and reduce the digital divide in extreme areas where communications have a greater impact on improving people’s quality of life.”

“These places have a greater need for telecommunications, especially because it can mean the difference between life and death in an emergency, for example” he added.
