After registering difficulties with its service in the Aysén region, Entel informed that customers who were affected in the communities of Aysén, Chile Chico, Cochrane, Coyhaique and Río Ibáñez will be compensated.


The origin of the contingency was due to a fiber optic cut coming from Argentine territory, which on Friday was affected by works performed in the section between Bariloche and Río Mayo, while last night the difficulty arose due to damages caused by a storm. The company worked hard to restore the signal, offering its users the possibility of using roaming to stay connected and explaining how to do it.


The company regretted the inconvenience caused by this situation to the community and informed through direct communication with its customers that it will exceptionally and extraordinarily compensate them with a 10% discount on their fixed charge, which will be reflected in their next bill (depending on the billing cycle, it could be in February for some customers) for subscription customers. As for prepaid customers, they will receive a bag of 1.5 GB, with free social networks, valid for 3 days.


Entel will continue working to improve its services and connectivity in the region in case of any similar event.
