January 7 and 8 in Santiago:

The initiative, promoted by Entel, seeks to highlight important agents of national change in the fields of education, health, sports, inclusion and environment.

The holograms will be exhibited during January 7 and 8 in Santiago, between 20:30 and 00:00 hours.

“Hologramas de Chilenos” ( in English “Holograms of Chileans"), an initiative that seeks to highlight the contribution of five national figures through the first digital monument in Chile, arrives in Santiago. The artistic intervention is organized by the technology and telecommunications company Entel, with which they seek to honor a group of women and men who have made significant contributions in their respective disciplines and are an inspiration to people.

This intervention will take place in the Puente Alto square, where they will be this Friday, January 7 and Saturday, January 8, between 20:30 and 00:00 hours. In this first digital monument, the holograms of the different Agents of Change will be projected, accompanied by panels with information regarding each of these people and the work they do every day inspiring people from their different areas, contributing to the responsible transformation of society.

Thus, it will be possible to see María Teresa Ruiz, astronomer and first woman to win the National Exact Sciences Award; Sergio Chamy, actor of the documentary that reached the Oscar Awards, who with his story has allowed to make visible the reality of the elderly; Camila Calfio, doctor in Biotechnology of Mapuche origin, who discovered molecules present in food that can prevent Alzheimer’s; Francisca Mardones, gold medalist in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games; and Julieta Martínez, creator of the Tremendas platform and speaker at COP 25 in Madrid with the talk “Action for Climate Empowerment”.

Technology has infinite possibilities, and this time Entel wanted to put them at the service of art to create the first digital monument that allows honoring Chilean men and women who promote relevant changes in the country, in important areas such as education, health, sports, inclusion and environment. This, along with helping people to reconnect with culture and their cities, and to be surprised again in the streets.

“After a couple of particularly difficult years for everyone due to the health contingency caused by the pandemic, we wanted to carry out actions that allow people to meet again with culture in their cities, inviting them to meet with this unprecedented intervention in which they can see on a large scale Chilean men and women who are making an important contribution to our country. This is using a technological resource that can impress by its size, with 3D models that give the sensation and texture of reality, as if they were real sculptures”, said Fernando Rivas, Entel Communications Manager.

This intervention toured during the second half of December the cities of Arica, Coquimbo, Talca and Puerto Varas, where people were surprised to find this digital monument in their streets and squares.
