For two months, students from the Los Lagos Region, between 8 and 18 years old, will be able to learn robotics at the hands of the representatives of Chile in the past Robotics World Cup: the team CienciaBots.
This will be possible thanks to the “Educational Robotics Program”, which was launched yesterday and is organized by the Puerto Rican team CienciaBots and Entel. This initiative seeks to form three robotics teams that will represent the region in the national and international circuit.
The cycle of workshops, which will be held in July and August, will take place in the Rosita Novaro, Inmaculada Concepción and Germania del Verbo Divino schools in Puerto Varas, and in an educational institution in Llanquihue.
These workshops will be led by two CienciaBots mentors, Tomás Matus and Daniela Silva, who will provide construction techniques and robotics knowledge through high-end work kits brought from the United States.
Each team that is formed will have the opportunity to compete in the VEX national robotics tournament, in the IQ and EDR categories, to be held in November in Santiago.
“We wanted to be a contribution to the young people representing Chile during the World Cup a couple of months ago and, now, we want to contribute again by giving our support to the next generation of students who will represent Chile in this discipline”, said Katherine Martorell, Director of Sustainability and Communities at Entel.
