Until October 7, journalists from all over Chile can take part in the PESU competition, organized by Entel and the Catholic University of Milan, with the aim of rewarding the best journalistic work that contributes to the construction of a more inclusive and sustainable society and promotes public debate on the subject.

The expert jury will award prizes in the categories of print, television, radio and multimedia from Chile and print from Peru. From these, the Grand Prize Winner will be chosen, who will participate in an internship at the School of Journalism of the Catholic University of Milan.

The objective of the eighth edition of Entel’s Sustainable Journalism Award (PESU), which has already opened its applications, is to recognize journalistic works that deal with sustainability issues related to the technological, social, economic and environmental development of the country.

The competition is open to all journalists who, between October 2015 and September 2016, published in national media journalistic works addressing sustainability issues in written press, written press, television chronicle, television report, radio and multimedia. Also, for the second year in a row, all journalists from print media in Peru who have published a work during the same period will be eligible for participation.

The PESU Award seeks to recognize the research and development of current, innovative, relevant, well-documented and narrative quality stories. “The role of journalists and the media in publicizing valuable initiatives in broad areas of sustainability such as technology, innovation, environment and social, among many others, is essential for the community. This is an approach that we are constantly promoting as a company” , says Manuel Araya, Entel’s Manager of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs.

Among all the participants, one winner will be chosen in each category. The grand winner of the 2016 PESU Award will be invited to the city of Milan, Italy, for a one-week internship at the School of Journalism of the Catholic University of Milan.

Applications for the eighth edition of PESU will close on Friday, October 7.
