Nearly half a million people came last night to see the largest fireworks display in the Metropolitan Region, with the most fireworks per square meter in the country: the New Year’s Eve at the Entel Tower.
Everyone who came to the 24th edition of the event enjoyed a free music and dance show from eight o’clock in the evening and experienced the most memorable moment of the night when the 17-minute fireworks display began to welcome 2016.
“The turn of the year is always a milestone, an opportunity to start anew, full of energy with family and friends, and the show that Entel prepared aimed to do just that: start the year in the best possible way, connecting people with their loved ones, their friends and the city,” said Rodrigo Solar, Entel’s Corporate Marketing Manager.
Like last year, the stage was set up in the central avenue of the Alameda, at the corner of Dieciocho Street. This time, the event was hosted by actress Paty López and journalist Francisco Saavedra, while singers Américo and Rigeo were the ones to get everyone dancing in a party set up especially for the occasion.
Starting at midnight and lasting for 17 minutes, 16.5 tons of fireworks were launched, reaching heights of up to 350 meters and visible from different parts of Santiago.
It is important to note that this year’s show also included a greater number of pyrotechnic shots - more than 15,000 - which made the show even more spectacular and intense in its effects.
